The Basic teachings of Unity are:

A. God is good and everywhere present.

B. The spirit of God lives within each person, therefore, all people are inherently good.

C.  We create our life experiences through our way of thinking.

D.  There is power in affirmative prayer, which we believe increases our connection to God.

E.  Knowledge of these spiritual principles is not enough.  We must live them.

Who are Unity Followers?

Unity is a family of loved ones drawn together by their mutual belief in an idea. The idea that holds us is that of a good and all-powerful God whose love indwells us and gives us everything we need to live happy, healthy, productive lives.

This idea and the people who believe it have created incredible blessings of positive thought and prayer for our world. Our history is filled with stories of answered prayer, prosperity demonstrations, miracles of healing, and peace.

Our future holds no less, for as each of us unfolds as God's beloved expression, our individual spiritual growth speeds the spiritual development of our world.

The story of Unity is a story of an idea whose time is right for expression in the human family. The idea is as fresh and new today as it was a century ago. It is as applicable to your life right now as it was to the lives of your parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents.

It is as useful in North America as it is in Europe, Africa, Australia, Japan, China, Russia, and the rest of the world. The idea of Unity is timeless, boundless, and limitless.

As you allow your mind to consider the idea of your own spirituality, your own unique and innate connection with God, you cannot help but feel your world shifting in a positive direction.

Unity offers a new way of thinking, a new way of being. It is a way full of hope, love, peace, abundance, healing, and joy. It is a way of oneness that truly allows people to see one another as brothers and sisters.

Honoring Diversity Within the Unity Movement

     We believe that all people are created with sacred worth. Therefore, we recognize the importance of serving all people within the Unity Family in spiritually and emotionally caring ways. We strive for our ministries, publications and programs to reach out to all who seek Unity support and spiritual growth. It is imperative that our ministries and outreaches be free of discrimination on the basis of race, color, gender, age, creed, religion, national origin, ethnicity, physical disability, or sexual orientation. Our sincere desire is to create spiritually aware organizations that are nondiscriminatory and that support diversity. In our effort to reach out to all people as did our Way-Shower, Jesus Christ, we support the modification of facilities to make them accessible to all people, regardless of physical challenges; the translation of materials into Braille and other languages; and respect for the wonderful variety of human commitments and relationships. We encourage ministers, teachers, and others within Unity to honor the strength of diversity within their spiritual communities. It is with love and in celebration of our unity, in the midst of our wondrous diversity, that we affirm this position.
